Hunt Country The country lies in Northumberland. The country is mostly permanent pasture and hill ground on the south and east side of the Cheviots with some 'in bye' ground. Adjacent Hunts; the Border to the west, College Valley/North Northumberland to the north, Percy to the east and the Morpeth to the south,

Hunt History The Country was first hunted by Mr. Selby of Biddlestone in about 1860; from 1870-74 by Major Browne of Doxford Hall, this gentleman then giving a Committee some hounds to hunt the country, which they did as the Alwinton Hounds until W.C. Selby, of Biddlestone, started his own pack in 1860, previous to hunting the whole of the Percy country in 1892. Major A.H. Brown then hunted the country for one season as the Callaly Hounds. Mr. T.C. Fenwicke Clennell hunted the country after this until 1904. From 1904-17 it was known as the Coquetdale Hunt; this was disbanded in 1917 and re-started in 1919 as the West Percy Hunt.
