About This Hunt

Hunt Country The country lies in North Yorkshire, and is part of the Cleveland country, bordering the Farndale and Goathland by permission of the Cleveland Hunt. It is all moorland hill country. Best centres: Glaisdale, Leaholm and Danby.

Hunt History The Hunt was established in 1877 by George Brown, of Glaisdale Hall, who held the Mastership until his death in December 1899. Zachariah Brown then took them over until he died in February 1919. The Hunt was started as a privately owned pack, hunting both hare and fox until 1951, and since then has hunted fox only.
